The event, organized in cooperation with the Latin America Centre of the University of Zurich, was mainly dedicated to Guatemala and in particular to the long-standing ties with Switzerland, including the commitment of Fundación Educación in Guatemala.
The event was a complete success. About 60 guests listened to His Excellency Carlos Arroyave, Ambassador of Guatemala, who explained the multifaceted relationship between Guatemala and Switzerland. Present were representatives of the Embassy and Consulate of Guatemala, the Universidad Francisco Marroquín (UFM), Guatemala, as well as strategic partners and numerous friends of Fundación Educación.
A highlight were the moving presentations of two of our scholarship holders, Francisco Campos from El Salvador and Derek Salguero from Guatemala. They were in Europe during a semester abroad and were very happy to be able to report first-hand about their career and the decisive importance of Fundación Educación for their lives.
Fine Guatemalan snacks and beautiful music from Guatemala with the marimba player Luca Musy rounded off the program.
